Darian Rodriguez Heyman

Best-Selling Author & Founder & CEO, Helping People Help

Darian is an accomplished fundraiser, nonprofit consultant, philanthropic advisor, and best-selling author. He began his life’s work “ helping people help ” during his five-year tenure as Executive Director of Craigslist Foundation, where he founded their hugely popular Nonprofit Boot Camp. In an effort to build the capacity of even more leaders, Heyman then authored the  Nonprofit Fundraising 101  and edited the best-selling  Nonprofit Management 101 , in addition to serving as Editor-in-Chief at the free online nonprofit magazine,  Blue Avocado . He’s currently writing his next book on AI for Nonprofits, featuring practical tips and tools from 60 industry experts.

Heyman specializes in helping nonprofits, philanthropists, and companies maximize impact. Beyond his active  consulting practice  and frequent keynotes around the globe, he recently served as the part-time Executive Director of  Numi Foundation , where he led their clean water and environmental education work, and Co-Founder of  GenderSmart  (now  2X Global ), an effort to funnel billions to women-led and -serving businesses. A champion of both racial and gender equity, Heyman recently completed his board service at  International Planned Parenthood Federation, Western Hemisphere  (now Fòs Feminista), is actively working for reproductive justice, and has personally distributed more than $20M in grants to Black-led and -serving nonprofits through his philanthropic advising practice.

Dottie Schindlinger

Dottie Schindlinger is Executive Director of the Diligent Institute, the modern governance think tank and global research arm of Diligent Corporation. She co-authored the book, “Governance in the Digital Age” co-hosts, “The Corporate Director Podcast,” and co-created Diligent Institute’s Certification programs for directors and executives, including AI Ethics & Board Oversight. Dottie was a founding team member of the tech start-up BoardEffect, acquired by Diligent in 2016. Dottie’s work has been featured in Fortune, Forbes, The Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg, and multiple governance and technology publications.

Nonie Dalton is VP of Product for Diligent’s Mission Driven Organizations group, overseeing governance solutions for elected, public sector and volunteer boards in community organizations. She also contributes to the development of new features, market intelligence and product strategy. Nonie holds a bachelor of science and master of business administration degrees, specializing in the management of technology.
